Meet Dr. Kenneth Frangadakis

Dr. Frangadakis
Dr. Frangadakis is the founding doctor of Cupertino Dental Group, establishing his practice in 1966. After attending UC Berkley, he earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry. He spent many years serving on the California State Board of Dental Examiners as an examining committee member and as Chief Examiner of the Prosthetic Division for Northern California.

Dr. Frangadakis’ professional affiliations include the Santa Clara County Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Peninsula Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the honored position of Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and fellow of the American College of Dentistry.

Having graduated from several advanced training programs, Dr. Frangadakis continues to educate himself in the latest materials and techniques. Although he is in general practice, the heart of his work is cosmetic dentistry with special interests in implants. He is quoted as saying, I’m a lucky guy! I get to come to work every day and enjoy my hobby and share time with the wonderful patients I have treated the last 40 years.

Dr. Ken is very involved with the Greek Community and the Greek Orthodox Church. He is the proprietor, with his restaurant partner George Marcus, of two outstanding Greek restaurants, Evvia in Palo Alto, and Kokkari in San Francisco. He spends his vacations traveling with family and friends. He also enjoys hunting and fishing.

Honors and Awards

Medallion of Distinction U.O.P School of Dentistry – Highest honor awarded by the Alumni Association for exemplary service to the community and the profession. (2003)

Axion Award Presented by the Hellenic American Professional Society for outstanding contributions in the field of dentistry and the Greek community. (2004)

Archon, Order of St. Andrews of Ecumenical Patriachate – highest award given to a layperson in the Orthodox Church for service to the church.

Ellis Island Medal of Honor One of the nation’s most prestigious awards, which pays tribute to individuals who have distinguished themselves in their profession, their community, and the America way of life. This is the only award, other than the Congressional Medal of Honor, to be recognized by both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Recipient’s names are listed in the Congressional Record. Six presidents, many senators, congressional representatives and Nobel Prize winners are among the remarkable group of individuals to have received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. (2004)

Fellowship, International College of Dentists

Lifetime Achievement Award – Member who receive the Lifetime Achievement award have been members of the Tripartite for 30 consecutive years and have reached the age of 65. They are honored at a General Monthly Meeting and are awarded a lifetime Achievement pin. (2007)
