As a
New York resident Dr. Leong attended Columbia University
for his undergraduate degree, majoring in chemistry. His
doctorate in dentistry was earned from the State University
of New York at Buffalo. Moving out west, he was a resident
at the University of California at San Francisco, completing
its orthodontic program in 1985.
Dr.
Leong is an active member of the American Association of
Orthodontics, Pacific Coast society of Orthodontics, American
Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa
Clara County Dental Society, and the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society.
The
treatment of young children, seven to ten years old, is
the arena where Dr. Leong excels. His philosophy of growth
modification allows for corrections of overbites, crossbites,
underbites and crowding at an early age. This prevents extractions
and jaw surgeries, which would be done in the teenage and
adult years in many cases.
Invisalign
is the latest and most advanced modality of treatment,
which allows for correction of crowded teeth without the
use of braces. Dr. Leong is an approved Invisalign
orthodontist and is very enthusiastic that he is able to
offer this exciting new technique to his juvenile and adult
patients.
Dr.
Leong and his family are active in their church. Also, over
the past couple of years he has developed a love-hate relationship
with golf.
